Fabrizio Romano has provided a fresh update on Bradley Barcola’s future as Arsenal and Liverpool press ahead with their attempts to sign the French forward this summer. The Gunners believe they already boast some of Europe’s top talent and are prioritising the addition of players who can further strengthen the squad. After securing back-to-back Champions League titles with Paris Saint-Germain, Barcola has established himself as one of Europe’s leading attackers, and Arsenal see him as a potential upgrade to their attacking options. Yet, they must contend with strong competition from Liverpool, who are also keen on signing him.
Both clubs rate Barcola among the game’s finest forwards and are hopeful PSG will sanction a departure during this transfer window. PSG had previously insisted the forward was not for sale, but their stance now appears to have softened, fueling speculation about his future. Barcola is understood to be seeking more consistent playing time and has signalled a willingness to leave if another club can offer him better opportunities on the pitch.
In a YouTube discussion, Romano stated: “Until last week, Barcola was untouchable; now I’m seeing him linked with several clubs. The reality is that Barcola is not untouchable. He has real potential to leave PSG in the summer transfer window. I’ve maintained my information since April, and I stand by it. And don’t forget Liverpool, because both Liverpool and Arsenal are monitoring Barcola. Liverpool have had him at the top of their shortlist since the summer window of 2025, and they remain interested.” Romano’s remarks highlight that Barcola’s future remains unsettled, with both Arsenal and Liverpool keeping a close watch as they seek to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window shuts.
The ongoing situation leaves Barcola at a crossroads, with interest from two of Europe’s most storied clubs and PSG’s evolving position on a potential sale. As negotiations continue behind the scenes, supporters will be watching to see which team can secure the 21-year-old’s signature and how his move might reshape the attacking dynamics at Arsenal or Liverpool.
