​The Atlanta Falcons are still waiting on right tackle Jawaan Taylor to make his official team debut. The former Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle was signed as the Falcons’ replacement for former first-round pick Kaleb McGary, who retired in the offseason. Taylor was placed on the PUP list at the start of training camp due to arm/elbow injuries, but he is not expected to be out for much longer. Head coach Kevin Stefanski gave an encouraging update on the veteran right tackle following Friday’s practice. “In the next few days [or] weeks is the hope,” Stefanski replied when asked about Taylor’s return timeline. “He continues to work very hard. He’s in every meeting. He’s pushing and I think he’s getting closer.”Taylor would certainly benefit from getting some work in with his new teammates, especially considering his lengthy penalty history. However, he has plenty of starting experience and should at the very least be an improvement over Elijah Wilkinson.McGary missed all of the 2025 season, and while Wilkinson played okay in his place, Taylor is a superior pass-blocker. The Falcons have two lefty quarterbacks, so Taylor’s pass-blocking ability will be that much more important in 2026.The team will return Saturday morning for another open practice at IBM Performance Field.
