FC Barcelona to increase offer for BVB’s Karim Adeyemi

The Bundesliga landscape could be shifting for Bayern Munich as Borussia Dortmund braces for the potential loss of a key attacker. Earlier this week, FC Barcelona began evaluating a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi and reportedly lodged a small initial bid. Now, however, Barca appears to be intensifying their approach, according to Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger. While Barcelona still hasn’t bridged the gap to the rumored €40 million price tag for Dortmund, the new proposal could push BVB toward a sale: Barcelona is reportedly preparing a fresh offer for Adeyemi, valued at €20 million plus €10 million in bonuses, with an enhanced bonus structure designed to make the add-ons easier to achieve. Barca’s latest bid was rejected, but negotiations between Barça and Dortmund continue. Despite this, Barça remains reluctant to exceed €30 million, given that Adeyemi still has one year left on his contract. Personal terms for a five-year deal with Barcelona have reportedly already been agreed, according to sources, and a definitive ceiling on the bid could force Barça to walk away. At the same time, other reports suggest Dortmund believes Adeyemi will not sign a contract extension, which would push the club to consider selling. The situation could thus become quite interesting for the Bundesliga’s balance of power in the near term.
