Five players appear set to bow out of the German national team after a disappointing World Cup campaign. Manuel Neuer has already confirmed this will be his last game for Germany following Monday’s exit to Paraguay. But the 40-year-old Bayern Munich veteran may not be alone in stepping away, as Germany looks to rebuild after another poor showing. Sport1 reports that Antonio Rüdiger, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané, Pascal Groß, and Oliver Baumann are unlikely to have future with the national side. Rüdiger, 33, hinted after the defeat that he would take his holiday to decide whether to keep playing for Germany. Goretzka, 31, whose Bayern contract has ended, is also viewed as likely to have played his final game, with Sané, 30, facing similar scrutiny as a player widely seen as having peaked. Veterans Pascal Groß (35) and Oliver Baumann (36) are also expected to be phased out as Germany rebuilds its squad for the future.
