FLINTSTONE opened a busy Wednesday with a dominant 9-4 victory over Northern in five innings, as five Flintstone batters collected multiple hits in a Mountain League Baseball Senior Division matchup. Braxtyn Hohn and Silas Leith led the charge with a double and a single apiece, while Wyatt Twigg, Eli Klavuhn and Braxton Kisamore each added two singles. Leith and Twigg crossed the plate twice apiece. Carson Wilhelm earned the win on the mound, scattering four hits while allowing two runs over three innings and fanning seven. For Northern, Mason Wagner went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, and Caleb Yoder added two singles and two runs scored. Wagner took the loss after working the first portion of the game. Flintstone, now 9-3, travels to Westernport on Monday for a 6 p.m. contest, while Northern, standing 3-7-2, hosts Personal Best at Memorial Field Friday at 6 p.m.
In Junior Division action, Flintstone rolled past Bedford 20-0 in four innings at POTOMAC PARK. Big productions from Noah Swadley, Chase Mallow and Brody Norris powered the win, each recording two hits and three RBIs. Norris and Mallow also produced doubles. Mason Kisamore contributed two RBIs, and Norris and Lane Humbertston scored three times apiece. The mound work was strong, as Mallow and Swadley combined to throw a no-hitter: Mallow pitched two innings, striking out five, while Swadley added three strikeouts over two innings. Bedford’s Mason Bullington took the loss. Flintstone sits at 10-1 and visits the Travel Mug Sluggers at Northern High on Monday at 6 p.m., with Bedford (3-9) traveling to the Sluggers on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
In another Junior Division clash, Casselman Valley and the Travel Mug Sluggers finished in a 2-2 tie at Salisbury, Pennsylvania. Casselman Valley grabbed a 2-0 lead in the third when Teddy Baer delivered an RBI single and an ensuing error extended the inning. The Sluggers answered in the fourth, plating two runs on an error and a groundout by Jaxon Flanagan. Neither squad scored the rest of the way. Baer went the distance for Casselman Valley, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits over six innings, with five strikeouts and six walks. Sluggers starter Owen Workman took the loss after giving up two runs on eight hits across five innings, with six strikeouts to five walks. Errice Weeks pitched a scoreless sixth. Casselman Valley finished with a 9-4 edge in hits; Landon Mull, Tanner Weimer and Baer each had two hits, with Mull adding a double. Casselman Valley (5-5-1) hosts Hampshire on Monday at 7 p.m. The Travel Mug Sluggers (5-8-1) head to Westernport to face Amoroso’s on Friday at 6 p.m. for their next game.
