Former Clemson baseball southpaw Noah Samol announced Saturday that he will transfer to ASUN school Austin Peay State University for his final year of eligibility, thanking Clemson for the opportunity to play the game he loves over the last three years.. Samol’s time at Clemson never really got the chance to become what either side probably hoped. He arrived after one season at Georgia Tech, missed the 2024 season because of injury, and returned in 2025 in a limited role. At 6’7 245, the frame was always interesting. Big lefties are always going to make coaches look twice, and Samol had the kind of size that made the common onlooker believe he could get to the next level.. Advertisement. Advertisement. Advertisement. Samol appeared in seven games for Clemson in 2025, making three starts and finishing with an 0-1 record and a 9.82 ERA across 7.1 innings. He allowed six hits, walked nine, and struck out five. His first appearance as a Tiger came against Liberty on March 12th, when he threw a hitless and scoreless inning in a starting role. A week later, he threw 1.2 scoreless innings against The Citadel.. Austin Peay now gives Samol a fresh start and, just as important, a chance to throw more. Sometimes the fit is not about the biggest logo or the deepest conference. Sometimes it is just about getting the ball, getting comfortable, and trying to finish your career the way you want it to..
