Several veteran players are still weighing their options for 2026, including former Miami Dolphins linebacker Raekwon McMillan. McMillan, who was without a team in the offseason, announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday via social media. In an Instagram caption, he wrote, “Always for the name on the back of my jersey. 8 years flew by but this next chapter is going to be my best chapter. I hope I made y’all proud!”
McMillan was selected by Miami in the second round of the 2017 draft out of Ohio State, where he earned All-Big Ten honors twice, was named an All-American once, and helped the team win a national championship. During his time with the Dolphins, he totaled 177 tackles, two quarterback pressures, two passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery over three seasons.
He later played for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020, the New England Patriots from 2021 to 2024, and the Tennessee Titans in 2024. His career totals include 285 tackles (15 for a loss), four passes defended, three quarterback hits, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a sack.
