High school football in Georgia began this past week, and one former Georgia Bulldog kicked off their coaching career with a victory.Former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Justin Houston became the assistant linebackers coach for Roswell High School in April of this year. His son is also on the junior Roswell Hornets team. Houston was able to get a victory in his game coaching at that level, as the Roswell Hornets defeated Walton High School 32-20 in a comeback victory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Thursday as part of the Corky Kell & Dave Hunter Classic.Houston played college football for the Bulldogs from 2007-2010, totaling 125 tackles and 20 sacks, earning himself first-team All-American honors in his last year there. The Kansas City Chiefs then drafted Houston in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft.Houston had a great career, accumulating 112 sacks and being named a four-time Pro Bowler across 13 seasons for the Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, and last playing for the Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers in 2023.A lot of former athletes transition to coaching after their careers, and Houston is off to a good start as the high school football season continues. His career path will be a fun one to watch over the upcoming years.
