​In devastating news for the Miami Dolphins, star running back De’Von Achane suffered an ACL tear against the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s obviously out for the season, as one of the few reasons to even watch the Dolphins on purpose won’t be back until 2027.And so the search begins for running back depth, and the Seahawks have brought in a couple of former Seahawks running backs for tryouts. Kenny McIntosh and Damien Martinez, seventh-round picks in 2023 and 2025 respectively, were among four running backs Miami worked out. Don’t believe me for some reason? Here’s the official NFL transaction wire, which has no choice but to be truthful.Unlike Martinez, McIntosh did make Seattle’s active roster as a rookie and even had a minor role in Seattle’s offense in 2024. Unfortunately, injuries limited his playing time in 2023 and he missed all of 2025 with an ACL tear suffered in training camp. McIntosh was waived earlier this summer during training camp and has not signed with a new team despite visits with several teams, including Klint Kubiak’s undefeated Las Vegas Raiders.Martinez, who finished his collegiate career at the University of Miami, had some intrigue as a Day 3 running back. He underwhelmed throughout camp and preseason and found himself on the outside looking in for roster cuts. Seattle briefly kept Martinez on the practice squad before releasing him early in September. Martinez remained a free agent until the Green Bay Packers added him in December to their practice squad. He competed for a roster spot this preseason, only to again be let go but this time not immediately signed to a practice squad.So if you’re wondering what Martinez and McIntosh have been up to in recent times, there’s your answer.
