Former Washington Huskies star infielder Baylee Klingler turned in a stellar performance for the Carolina Blaze in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League on Wednesday evening in a 7-6 loss to the Chicago Bandits. The two-time First Team All-American and 2022 Top 3 finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and 4 runs batted in as she continues to heat up while the AUSL season rolls on.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementAcross 13 games, Klingler is up to a .279 batting average and .706 OPS on 12 hits, a home run, 8 RBI, and a pair of runs scored on the year. She’s also added a walk and a hit by pitch to bring her on-base percentage to .311 as she continues to assert herself as a key piece of Carolina’s lineup.Over 70 career games in the AUSL, Klingler has continued to be a model of consistency, just like she was for coach Heather Tarr on Montlake. She’s compiled a .303 batting average and .744 OPS on 69 hits with 4 home runs and 38 RBI.With just four games left on the schedule, Klingler could also be a catalyst for the Blaze, who are currently sitting in fifth place at 8-13 on the year, as the team looks to make a late push.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementKlingler and the Blaze will return to the field on Thursday, July 16, at 4:00 p.m. PT in an attempt to split the two-game series with the Bandits. This article originally appeared on Huskies Wire: Former Washington softball star turns in 4 RBI for Carolina Blaze
