One of Florida State University baseball’s top commits has added another national accolade to an already decorated high school career. Seminoles signee Landon Thome was named to Baseball America’s 2026 High School All-America Second Team, a nod that places him among the nation’s premier prep talents following a standout senior season. These annual All-America selections highlight the best high school players across the country and often spotlight many individuals expected to be near the top of future MLB Draft boards. Thome’s inclusion marks his third All-America honor, underscoring the consistency he displayed throughout his final year of high school.
Thome delivered an eye-popping offensive campaign, finishing the season with a .533 batting average, eight home runs, 16 doubles, nine triples, 35 RBIs, 63 runs scored, and a 1.676 OPS. His speed on the bases was equally impressive, as he swiped 49 bases in 50 attempts, showcasing him as one of the most dynamic all-around players in the nation. The blend of power, speed, and consistent contact helped Thome stand out from a deep pool of high school talent and solidified his suitability for Baseball America’s All-America squad. This recognition further cemented his reputation as one of the top position players in the 2026 recruiting class.
The honor also signals a productive offseason for Florida State’s incoming recruiting class. Earlier this summer, Seminoles softball signee McLaine Hudson earned Rivals High School Softball Offensive Player of the Year honors, while several current Florida State players received invitations to the 2026 MLB Draft Combine. Thome’s latest All-America nod adds another nationally recognized prospect to the Seminoles’ incoming class, reinforcing the program’s growing depth of elite prep talent.
As Thome prepares to begin his collegiate career in Tallahassee, he arrives with one of the most accomplished résumés in the country. Achieving his third High School All-America selection places him among a select group of players who have consistently performed at the highest levels throughout their final prep season. For Florida State, Thome’s trajectory signals the continued recruitment of one of the nation’s premier prep talents, coming to campus ready to contribute at a high level.
