The Denver Broncos are heading into the 2026 season with the biggest expectations the team has seen since at least the 2015 season. That year, the Broncos were able to win the Super Bowl.
Denver has done nothing to tamp down the lofty expectations of where they believe they are, elevating their offense with the blockbuster trade for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle from the Miami Dolphins in March.

Broncos starting left tackle Garett Bolles believes that Waddle brings a different dimension to an already potent offense. “Our team was just missing one piece, we were missing that Jaylen Waddle,” Bolles said in an appearance on NFL Network. “We were missing that electrifying dude that could come across the middle, can get the deep ball, can have the speed around the edge, we hand it off to him when he’s in motion, and all the above.”
Bolles sang the praises of his new teammate. “The dude is electrifying, and one of the nicest dudes I’ve ever met… it’s going to be really hard for defenses to try to scheme us up.”

In the same interview, Bolles also talked about the impact of new offensive coordinator and primary playcaller Davis Webb. “The nice thing is, our offense hasn’t changed too much, just because they want to keep it as similar as possible,” Bolles said. “But there’s obviously some changes, different terminologies that we gotta get used to. I love Davis Webb. He’s young, he’s been in the league before, he knows exactly what we go through on a regular basis, he knows what works. He also played quarterback in this league, and to play quarterback in this league is no easy task at all.”

Webb himself mentioned that the offense will still be watched over by head coach Sean Payton. “This is a Sean Payton-coached football team,” Webb said after the second week of organized team activities. “This is a Sean Payton offensive philosophy.”
Other players have spoken highly of Webb and his knowledge, with wide receiver Courtland Sutton calling Webb a “mad scientist.”
The Broncos will all report to training camp on July 28. Players have a summer break until then.
