Garrett Wilson directs sideline meltdown at Geno Smith during loss to Dolphins

By admin — In News — October 25, 2026

The Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets, 28-25, in Week 7. It was the Dolphins’ first win of the NFL season and the Jets have now lost five of their last six games. As you could probably guess, it very frustrating afternoon in the Meadowlands. Fans booed the home team as they left the field at halftime. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr. had questions for coach Aaron Glenn after he didn’t get the ball on a short drive in the second quarter, but at least Glenn knew who got the ball to start the third. Things finally boiled over in the fourth quarter when Garrett Wilson was seen shouting at quarterback Geno Smith on the sideline. He was targeted three times, the same number as Adonai Mitchell and Isaiah Davis. Cooper, Mason Taylor and Braelon Allen all had more targets than Wilson during the game. MORE: Aaron Rodgers moves past Peyton Manning with historic NFL moment in ParisThe Jets’ star receiver has only caught one touchdown in October. Not to mention 211 of his 444 receiving yards this season came in just two games. If you’re not winning, there’s just no way to keep a wide receiver happy who isn’t getting the ball. Wilson is not getting the ball and the Jets are not winning. Losing at home to the Dolphins feels even worse than usual and this won’t be the last sideline outburst we’ll see from the team this season if something doesn’t change.—Enjoy free coverage of the top news & trending stories with The Big Lead Newsletter—
