Genk will need to pay around €10m to sign Nigerian striker from Pisa

Genk are exploring options for a new striker. According to HNB, they seem to be aiming for Rafiu Durosinmi of Pisa, the 23-year-old Nigerian forward. But a move for him would come at a premium, with Pisa reportedly seeking around €10 million to part ways with the talent. Genk could potentially raise the funds soon, as they are currently in talks with Borussia Dortmund over Kos Karetsas, with the Belgian club hoping to command about €35 million for the promising Greek teenager. If that deal goes through, it would likely provide the financial means to pursue Durosinmi.
Durosinmi arrived at Pisa in January 2026 after departing Viktoria Plzen, where he had tallied 31 goals in 71 appearances. Since joining Pisa, the forward has managed only one goal in 12 appearances. Nevertheless, Genk have a track record of success with Nigerian strikers, with Tolu Arokodare and Paul Onuachu delivering numerous goals during their time in Belgium. However, €10 million is a substantial outlay for a Belgian club, and if the move falters, Genk could struggle to recoup a similar amount later, making the transfer a risky investment. Should they press ahead and pay the asking price, it would represent a club-record outlay for Genk, surpassing the fee they paid for Theo Bongonda a few seasons ago.
Durosinmi is reportedly receptive to a move, particularly after Pisa’s relegation to Serie B last season, which could increase his willingness to explore opportunities elsewhere. The potential transfer carries both opportunity and risk for Genk: a proven pathway to a high-caliber forward, but at a price that could be difficult to justify if the move does not yield the expected return.
