We are counting down the days until the start of the Kentucky football season, and are down to just 33 days until game one. As we count they days down, we are also getting to know the players on the roster, and today we’re taking a look at No. 33, Rico Crowder.Crowder is a 6’4″, 201 lb wide receiver out of Glasgow, Kentucky. As a high school senior, he recorded over 2,000 all-purpose yards, and scored 20 touchdowns, but wasn’t heavily recruited as a part of the 2024 class. The Wildcats coaching staff, however, offered him a preferred walk-on spot, and he accepted. In 2024, Crowder redshirted while he adjusted to the new surroundings. Then, last season, he became a regular on special teams, a good way to make a difference as a young player.Heading into 2026, Crowder elected to stay with Kentucky through the coaching change despite still being lower on the depth chart. Just a sophomore, he has plenty of time to work his way up while still being a difference-maker on special teams. He has terrific size and speed, and if he puts it together, he could turn into a very good player at wide receiver. This article originally appeared on UK Wildcats Wire: Get to know the Kentucky football roster: No. 33 Rico Crowder
