​As the San Francisco Giants entered their series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers, one thing stood above the rest: An opportunity to secure a series win against one of the best teams not only in the National League, but across Major League Baseball. They were also in a favorable position with Logan Webb taking the mound. Add in the Brewers recalling Thomas Pannone to make the start after announcing the move earlier in the afternoon, and the matchup appeared to lean heavily in San Francisco’s favor.That advantage ultimately showed on the field. The Giants overwhelmed the Brewers with an offensive explosion, cruising to a 16-3 victory to clinch the series while Webb earned his sixth win of the season.The Giants struck first in the second inning when Daniel Susac launched a three-run homer, his first of the season. Susac has dealt with his share of injuries this year, which have likely played a role in limiting his offensive production at the major-league level, especially considering the success he enjoyed during Spring Training. Even so, seeing him contribute offensively was a welcome development, and his home run gave the Giants an early lead.The Brewers, however, didn’t stay quiet for long. Rafael Devers later drove in another run on a fielder’s choice, and Jung Hoo Lee capped the inning with a two-run double as the Giants turned a close game into a comfortable lead.Webb made sure the Brewers never had a chance to climb back into the game. While he surrendered the two early runs, he settled in and delivered another strong performance against one of baseball’s top clubs. Throughout his six innings, the Giants maintained control of the game, and Webb finished with 6.0 innings pitched, two earned runs, one walk, and four strikeouts.Following Webb’s outing, Sam Hentges ran into some trouble by allowing a run in his inning of work, but it had little impact on the outcome. The Giants immediately answered in the bottom of the seventh with RBI hits from Arraez and Bryce Eldridge, restoring the run and extending their advantage.
