Gotham FC and NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani team up again: $15 Tickets for The Queens Classic

By admin — In News — July 8, 2026

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Gotham FC announced today a limited-time offer of $15 tickets for the Queens Classic, the upcoming match at Citi Field on July 15. A total of up to 4,000 tickets will be made available at this special price on a first-come, first-served basis, with tickets accessible through GothamFC.com/Mayor. The Queens Classic, for which more than 38,000 tickets have already been distributed, marks Gotham FC’s first game in Queens and features a rematch of the 2025 NWSL Championship, as Gotham FC faces local rivals Washington Spirit in a marquee showdown.
“The biggest events in our city should be affordable to the people who make this city run,” Mayor Mamdani stated. “Whether it’s the World Cup, a championship celebration, or The Queens Classic, our goal remains the same: ensure working New Yorkers have a chance to be there. This ticket offer will help thousands more fans cheer on one of the world’s best clubs as Gotham FC makes history.”
This announcement follows Gotham FC’s earlier decision that all home matches will be played at Etihad Park in Queens starting with the 2028 NWSL season. In conjunction with that move, the club reported that more than 1,000 season-ticket deposits have already been placed for 2028 within 24 hours of the move becoming public.
“Gotham FC is proud to partner with Mayor Mamdani’s office on an initiative that opens the doors to one of the biggest nights in our club’s history,” said Mark Zarthar, Gotham FC’s president. “The Queens Classic is about more than a single match; it’s about uniting New Yorkers, expanding the women’s game, and crafting a moment that reflects the city’s energy, ambition, and diversity.”
This collaboration between the city and Gotham FC is not new. In late April, Mamdani and Gotham FC promoted a May home game by offering 1,000 tickets at $5 each, an initiative that sold out within an hour. The current Queens Classic offer continues that spirit of collaboration and community engagement, delivering affordable access to top-tier women’s soccer and reinforcing the connection between Gotham FC, the city, and its residents. The event also serves as a showcase for the club’s growth in Brooklyn/Queens and a demonstration of the city’s support for women’s sports, community athletics, and inclusive entertainment.
As the Queens Classic approaches, fans are encouraged to monitor GothamFC.com/Mayor for updates on ticket availability and promotional details. The event is expected to draw a diverse crowd drawn by strong competitive play, a historic venue, and the uplifting narrative of a championship-caliber team bringing its talents to Queens for a landmark game.
