At that point, we were really on the verge of breaking them.“But especially in a phase like that, you have to reward yourself.“We invested so much, started some good attacks and got into the penalty area regularly, but we simply didn’t score the goal.“And in the end, that’s not enough.”Prömel was also forced to adapt during the first half after Angelo Stiller suffered an injury, with youngster Yannik Spalt introduced alongside him in midfield.Asked about the incident that forced Stiller off and whether Stuttgart should have been awarded a penalty, Prömel admitted he hadn’t had a clear enough view to judge it himself.“I was so far away that I didn’t see it properly,” he explained.“Angelo told me there was clear contact.
