​Not in Nottingham. The Guardians showed some fight last night losing 12-8. Yipee.Travis Bazzana is embarrassing me at second base. He was at the center of the unraveling of that game in the fifth. The team basically needs to tell him to play DH until next season and then spend the offseason seeing if he can be come playable at second or left field. Hard to type, but it’s the truth. I still feel very good about his bat, but hard to understand how he can be this bad defensively.The Guardians’ bullpen was also embarrassing yesterday. Tim Herrin is a joke. Hunter Gaddis, you’re welcome for nothing for sticking up for you as a 7th/8th inning guy.Doesn’t matter which faceless lefty you throw out there, they are gonna have a good day against this team. How they haven’t cleaned house with hitting development folks is beyond me.Jose Ramirez is clearly gonna be a diminished version of himself after the hamate surgery.And, good news! We play the Diamondbacks one more time this afternoon!The trade deadline is tomorrow at 6pm but I don’t even care right now. There isn’t one or two moves that’s gonna fix this team.AROUND MLB:The Dodgers traded for Tarik Skubal as we all knew they would. Folks like Ken Rosenthal immediately and disingenously started asking “Why don’t other teams care as much about winning as the Dodgers do?” We are 100% missing the 2027 season because owners think they can leverage baseball’s inequities into a salary cap and players won’t be honest about the competitive balance issues for fear of giving owners a foothold to insitute a cap.The White Sox added Luis Castillo who might not be good anymore. But, you don’t have to have good pitchers to beat the Guardians.
