Although Romano did not disclose the financial details, previous reports suggested Como were prepared to pay around €60 million to complete the permanent transfer after Real Madrid exercised their initial €9 million buyback option.
That structure allows the Spanish giants to secure a significant financial return while keeping open the possibility of bringing one of their brightest academy graduates back to the Santiago Bernabeu in the future.
The agreement follows a busy few days surrounding Nico Paz’s future.
Real Madrid had activated the midfielder’s buyback clause before opening fresh discussions with Como regarding a permanent transfer.

At the same time, Inter Milan also emerged as a possible destination, with reports even suggesting Paz could become part of negotiations involving Alessandro Bastoni.

However, Como remained determined to keep the Argentine after his impressive performances in Serie A, and their persistence has now paid off.
Furthermore, the player’s own preference also played a decisive role in the outcome.
Rather than returning immediately to Real Madrid, Nico Paz wanted another season in an environment where he would continue playing regularly.
