​The Washington Huskies men’s basketball team has its team set for the 2026-27 season.The Huskies on Wednesday landed a commitment from Rutgers Scarlet Knights transfer and 6-foot-7 Bosnian guard Harun Zrno to the staff, bringing the program’s roster to a max allotment of 15 players.Danny Sprinkle’s third season at the helm of the program features six returners from last year, commits from international waters, one commitment from the Class of 2026 and five additions via the transfer portal.In addition to UW’s player additions, the Huskies also added to the coaching staff and hired an assistant coach with 25 years of NBA experience, Charles Klask.Washington has not made the NCAA tournament since 2019, and will be looking its series of additions will break that drought.Here’s an overview of how the roster looks for the upcoming season:Guards (6)– Wesley Yates III (returner)– Ryan Beasley (transferred from San Francisco)– Parker Friedrichsen (transferred from Davidson)– BJ Roy (returner)– Harun Zrno (transferred from Rutgers)– Tristan Devers (recruited from Australia)Wings (3)– Jasir Rencher (returner)– Steele Venters (transferred from Gonzaga)– Lattimore Ford (Class of 2026 commitment)Lathan Sommerville and Lattimore Ford was going at it in today’s workout! The former entered the 2026 NBA Draft and was selected 14th overall by the Charlotte Hornets and Diallo transferred to the Kentucky Wildcats.Junior guard Wesley Yates III is the team’s leading returning scorer from last season. He was unable to maintain his top form throughout the season due to a broken bone in his wrist that kept him out for several games last season. He played the rest of the year with a brace after his return and wasn’t able to regain his high efficiency he had before the injury.As the team’s oldest and most experienced returning player, there will be an added pressure on him to perform this upcoming season and he’ll likely be the No. 1 option on offense.Wes brings the people to their feet!📺: @BigTenNetworkpic.twitter.com/QExwkwCFQZ— Washington Men’s Basketball (@UW_MBB) November 7, 2025Washington will also be looking for a new starting frontcourt with Steinbach and center Franck Kepnang (transferred to Kentucky) both gone from the team.Nikola Dzepina, who joined the team last April but received inconsistent playing time due to not knowing the roster, will be a player to watch due to his similar skillset and size to Steinbach. Wini Braga, who was recruited out of Brazil, is another forward to watch.
