UFC 329 is nearly here, with kickoff in just under 24 hours. The action goes down this weekend on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor makes his return to action in a rematch against Max Holloway.
We run a weekly feature at MMAmania.com called “Weekend Lock,” where we pick a single bet we expect to pay off big once the dust settles in Sin City. We’d love to hear from you, our readers, so share your most confident UFC 329 betting lock in the comments below. You can also check the full UFC 329 odds for reference.
Last week’s results: We’ve now landed two straight weeks of profits, as the Matheus Camilo versus Nazim Sadykhov bout at UFC Baku finished in under 2.5 rounds when Camilo stopped Sadykhov in the first round (watch highlights).
Turning to UFC 329, the main card features a clash many expect to be Fight of the Night: Flyweight perennial contender Brandon Royval versus rising prospect and challenger Lone’er Kavanagh. This matchup is shaping up to be a war.
This week’s lock: Royval vs. Kavanagh Over 2.5 Rounds at -188.
This is a contest where both fighters are too skilled to be finished early. Royval has spent his entire UFC career testing himself against Top 15 opposition. Since joining the promotion, he has shared the cage with elite talents, challenged for the title, and consistently proven he belongs among the division’s best. Experience matters, and Royval has it in spades.
Kavanagh appears to be the next man up. He cemented his reputation in his first main event by thoroughly defeating former champion Brandon Moreno, a performance that instantly signaled his potential to vie for a title in the future.
Stylistically, the matchup tends to favor a longer, more grinding affair. Royval is notoriously difficult to finish. Outside of Manel Kape—who possesses a rare finishing ability at Flyweight—few opponents have stopped him. He thrives on surviving scrambles, recovering quickly when hurt, and thriving in chaotic exchanges.
Kavanagh, while highly skilled and steadily improving, has not shown himself to be a prolific finisher in the UFC. Across his run, he has demonstrated patience, discipline, and technical striking rather than reckless aggression. Unless Royval suffers a dramatic setback overnight, it’s hard to envision Kavanagh delivering his first UFC finish on Royval.
Expect a fast-paced, back-and-forth battle filled with scrambles, volume striking, and swings in momentum. Those are precisely the kinds of fights Royval excels in. Royval fights with chaos woven into his DNA; he willingly places himself in dangerous spots, and over time, those risks can catch up. Kavanagh is improving rapidly but has shown vulnerability to getting clipped and becoming vulnerable in exchanges.
Still, Royval’s career trajectory contributes to strong odds here. The matchup promises a high-octane, action-packed fight that could easily swing in Royval’s favor given his experience in high-stakes bouts and his proven ability to absorb damage and keep pressing forward.
If you’re drafting a UFC 329 betting slate, this Over 2.5 rounds line offers a compelling blend of reliability and potential upside, particularly for fans who want to lean into Royval’s resilient, relentless style and Kavanagh’s calculated, evolving approach.
