After more than a thousand days, Tom Kim has reclaimed his winner’s smile. The 24-year-old fired a 64 on Sunday at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick to win the Genesis Scottish Open, a star-studded event co-sponsored by the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour, by two shots over Min Woo Lee, who shot 67. This fourth career victory for Kim also marks his first since capturing the now-defunct Shriners Children’s Open in 2023. The triumph delivered Kim a first prize of $1.575 million from a total purse of $9 million.
The event’s prize distribution reflected a strong field in Scotland. Kim led at 17-under par with a 263 total, earning the $1,575,000 top prize. Min Woo Lee finished at 15-under, taking $985,500 as the runner-up. Keita Nakajima and Johnny Keefer, both tied for third with 13-under, each earned $431,887.50, alongside Matt Fitzpatrick, Robert MacIntyre, and a few others tied at that mark. Rory McIlroy and Michael Thorbjornsen finished tied for seventh at 12-under, each taking $270,675. The money list continued with several big names in the field, including Victor Perez and Si Woo Kim at 11-under, each collecting $223,200, and a larger group at 10-under and 9-under who earned progressively smaller shares, down to a cluster of players tied around 8-under and 7-under.
Among the notable names close behind were Viktor Hovland and Patrick Reed, tied at 9-under, and Tommy Fleetwood, Wyndham Clark, and others tied at 9-under as well. Francesco Molinari, Joost Luiten, Tyrrell Hatton, and Alejandro Del Rey were part of a multi-player tie at 8-under. The leaderboard also featured Cam Davis, Casey Jarvis, Matti Schmid, Jordan Smith, Danny Willett, Nick Taylor, Nicolai Højgaard, Ryan Gerard, and Marcus Armitage, all within range of the top spots, with varying prize outcomes.
A broader look at the prize breakdown showed several players earning significant checks well beyond the winner, including those tied for 7th through 13th and beyond, reflecting the depth and competitiveness of the field. In the lower tiers, players such as Mac Meissner and others captured portions of the prize pool, while a number of veterans and rising talents—Rory McIlroy, Jordan Smith, and others—found themselves mid-pack as the event concluded.
Kim’s victory at the Genesis Scottish Open underscores his rise as a consistent force on the international circuit, delivering not only a substantial payday but also momentum as he continues to chase major titles and continued success on both the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour.
