‘He’s Gonna Remind the Entire World’ — Justin Jefferson Receives Bold Prediction After Slipping to WR4 on PFN’s Top-100

Justin Jefferson is emerging from the toughest season of his six-year career, and the numbers speak loudly. The Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver closed the 2025 campaign with 84 receptions, 1,048 receiving yards, and just two touchdowns on 141 targets across 17 games, marking all-time lows for a fully healthy season. A revolving door at quarterback, featuring J.J. McCarthy, Carson Wentz, and an undrafted rookie in Max Brosmer, left Jefferson visibly frustrated and underlined the production dip. In light of his 2025 struggles, PFN slotted Jefferson at No. 16 overall and as the No. 4 wide receiver on its Top-100 Players list, trailing Ja’Marr Chase, Puka Nacua, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Minnesota’s 9-8 finish in 2025 represented a notable regression from the franchise’s 14-3 success in 2024 and dashed hopes of a return to the playoffs. Jefferson’s frustration spilled over throughout the year, and the Vikings sought to shore up their most glaring weakness by signing former No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray to a one-year deal after the Arizona Cardinals released him in March. While the quarterback competition in Minnesota between Murray and McCarthy remains unsettled, most observers believe Murray enters the season as the presumptive starter. With 87 career starts, 153 total touchdowns, and a dual-threat skill set, the veteran passer could open more downfield opportunities for Jefferson.
PFN analyst Jason Katz offered a bold forecast for Jefferson’s outlook in 2026, saying, “As bad as last year was, Jefferson still averaged 2.0 yards per route run with J.J. McCarthy at quarterback. He’s going to remind the entire world just how elite he is in 2026.” Playing alongside a motivated veteran like Murray could benefit both the franchise and Jefferson’s long-term happiness in Minnesota. The 27-year-old wideout is under contract through 2028 on a four-year, $140 million extension, but if the team’s quarterback situation fails to improve, trade talk surrounding him will surely surface.
According to PFN’s WR Impact Metric, Jefferson posted an impact score of 75.0 last season, ranking 38th in the league. That marked only the second time in his career that he didn’t finish among the top four, after leading the league in 2022 and ranking third in 2024, with other strong finishes in 2020 and 2021. Over six NFL seasons, Jefferson has compiled 579 receptions for 8,480 yards, the most receiving yards by any player in his first six seasons, along with 43 total touchdowns. He earned the 2022 Offensive Player of the Year award, has earned four Pro Bowl selections, and two first-team All-Pro honors. Jefferson is seen by many as a Hall of Fame-caliber talent, which makes it imperative for the Vikings’ quarterback room to deliver in 2026. If the signal-callers around him falter again, the possibility that Jefferson seeks a change of scenery or becomes the subject of widespread trade speculation will rise, underscoring the need for a stable, high-performing offense to maximize his extraordinary talents.
