SPRINGFIELD — Changes have been made to Hillcrest and Parkview football’s schedule before the start of the 2026 season.Springfield Public Schools athletic director Josh Scott confirmed the changes to The News-Leader. Hillcrest and Parkview were both slated to play Central this season. The Bulldogs will not be playing a varsity schedule this season for the second consecutive year. Central’s lack of numbers is the main reason for the team not fielding a varsity squad. Instead of playing Central, Hillcrest will be hosting Camdenton in Week 1 on Friday, August. 28. Camdenton was originally slated to play Heritage (Arkansas). In Week 2, Parkview will be playing Lighthouse Christian Academy on Friday, Sept. 4. The Vikings will face Reeds Spring to start the season, too.
