The Houston Rockets have featured 52 different jersey numbers in their history, with one player—Houston assistant coach and general manager Carroll Dawson—not belonging to any specific numerical sequence since the franchise began in the 1967-68 season. Across nearly 500 players, Rockets Wire now covers the full history of these numbers and the athletes who wore them, from the team’s inception to the present day. With seven jerseys retired to honor some of the franchise’s greatest players, there is plenty of legacy to explore. In today’s piece, we continue with the 18th player to wear No. 20: guard Josh Okogie. After finishing his college career at Georgia Tech, Okogie was selected 20th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Lagos, Nigeria native spent his first four professional seasons with Minnesota and later played for the Phoenix Suns and Charlotte Hornets before joining the Rockets in 2025, where he remains as of this writing. During his Rockets tenure, Okogie wore only jersey No. 20, averaging 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. All statistics and data are courtesy of Basketball Reference.
