This is yet another chapter in the Denver Nuggets’ struggles with their contract situation because it seems they did not offer Watson the deal he wanted.Many people have pointed out Christian Braun’s contract with the Nuggets and how it has handicapped the front office in negotiations. Watson wanted a similar contract to his now-former teammate, but it seems the Nuggets could not afford to do so.Christian Braun’s contract might be an issue for the NuggetsBack in October 2025, the Nuggets agreed to a five-year contract worth $125 million with Braun. Since he was a solid player for the Nuggets, it was an understandable decision. However, the amount might have been too big even for a rock-solid contributor.After an underwhelming 2025-26 season, Braun’s contract did not look good for Denver. Since Watson stood out in the 2025-26 campaign, he felt he deserved an improved contract.
