​Saturday’s non-conference showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, pitted two programs moving in very different directions.No. 10 Alabama, an SEC power accustomed to defending its home turf, was facing an unranked Florida State team that has spent the past three seasons searching for answers away from Tallahassee.The numbers told the story before kickoff.It had been 1,029 days since FSU’s last road victory, a 24-15 win over rival Florida on Nov. 25, 2023. Since then, the Seminoles had made a habit of leaving opposing stadiums empty-handed, losing nine consecutive. Alabama, meanwhile, rarely slips in these situations. The Crimson Tide had not lost a non-conference home game since a 34-24 setback to Texas on Sept. 9, 2023, when the Longhorns were still members of the Big 12.
