​The Las Vegas Raiders recorded a mediocre 37 sacks throughout the 2025 season. That was tied for 19th in the league. General manager John Spytek made some offseason changes at the position, including signing veteran defensive end Kwity Paye.Paye was signed to a lucrative three-year, $48 million contract that will pay him an average annual salary of $16 million. The Raiders’ deal with Paye was negotiated when they believed they’d be trading superstar EDGE Maxx Crosby. When the Baltimore Ravens pulled out of that deal unexpectedly, the Raiders still moved forward with the Paye addition.Crosby led the Raiders in sacks last season with 10 despite being limited to 15 appearances and occasionally playing through an injury. The Raiders also drafted a pass rusher in Auburn’s Keyron Crawford. With Malcolm Koonce also back, Crosby will have significantly more support in 2026.Paye endured a slightly disappointing campaign with the Indianapolis Colts last season, registering just 4.0 sacks. It was a downgrade from the 8.5 sacks he recorded in 2023, and the 8.0 sacks he notched in 2024. The Colts also didn’t have a rusher like Crosby on the edges to take away attention from Paye.Paye should record 6+ sacks with the Raiders in 2026. Expectations are he’ll be an effective defensive end who also sets hard edges in the run game.
