​It’s been an exciting offseason for Seattle Seahawks EDGE Derick Hall. General manager John Schneider signed him to a three-year contract extension worth $42 million. The agreement keeps Hall under contract with the Seahawks through the 2029 campaign.Hall’s focus immediately shifted towards preparing for a productive 2026 season. The second-round selection (No. 37 overall) in the 2023 NFL draft recorded just two sacks last year after producing a career-high 8.0 sacks in 2024. The Seahawks obviously believe that was an outlier, and that Hall was more impactful than the statline suggests.Hall played the fourth-most snaps among all Seahawks EDGEs in 2025, earning 420 reps. That accounted for 37.43% of the Seahawks’ defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Reference. DeMarcus Lawrence (626), Uchenna Nwosu (583), and Boye Mafe (561) were the defensive ends that outsnapped Hall.With Mafe no longer with the Seahawks, Hall’s snap-count could increase in 2026. Seattle did sign Dante Fowler Jr. in free agency, and head coach Mike Macdonald does appreciate rotating his edge rushers. Still, it’s safe to assume that barring injury, Hall will be more involved in 2026.Hall possesses every trait necessary to enjoy a quality bounce-back season and flirt with double-digit sacks. The Seahawks rewarded his effort and approach with a lucrative contract extension.
