A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces and Aliyah Boston of the Indiana Fever battled for position in Game 3 of the semifinals during the 2025 WNBA Playoffs at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 26, 2025. The Indiana Fever wrapped up their current four-game road swing on Sunday with a visit to Michelob ULTRA Arena to face the reigning champion Aces. That game marked the rematch of the Fever and Aces from earlier in the season, a contest Las Vegas sought to avenge after their 84-68 loss on July 5, a game in which Wilson and Caitlin Clark were sidelined by injuries.
Wilson was sidelined earlier in the season with a left ankle issue, while Clark was sidelined by a back injury that has hampered her since the start of the year. In the July 5 meeting, Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 27 points. The Indiana Fever and Las Vegas Aces met again tonight on national television, with NBC and Peacock carrying the game. It was scheduled to tip off at 9:00 p.m. ET at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and would also be streamed on FuboTV and WNBA League Pass, both subscription services.
Entering tonight, the Fever held a 2-1 record on their road trip, having defeated the Aces and the Phoenix Mercury while falling to the Los Angeles Sparks. Caitlin Clark had missed two of the three games on the trip due to a back injury but was listed as probable and anticipated to be cleared for tip-off. The Aces, meanwhile, were riding a two-game win streak after Wilson’s return from injury. They edged the Portland Fire on July 9 and dominated the Mercury on the following Saturday.
With the Aces playing a second night of a back-to-back, Wilson’s workload might be managed as she recovers from the ankle injury. In the first Fever–Aces meeting of the season, Kelsey Mitchell led Indiana with 27 points, two rebounds and three assists, while Aliyah Boston posted 18 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks. Jackie Young contributed 15 points, two rebounds and four assists for Las Vegas, and Jewell Loyd added 12 points for the Aces.
The Fever entered this game leading the Eastern Conference at 13-9, good for fifth in the overall league standings, fresh off a 92-89 win over the Phoenix Mercury in which Mitchell had 29 points, two rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Indiana led the league in points per game at 93.3, with Mitchell averaging 22.5 points per game to pace the team and Clark and Alyssa Thomas each contributing significant assist numbers, tied for the league lead at 7.9 per game.
Despite their offensive firepower, Indiana’s defense ranked among the weaker units in the league, presenting both a challenge and an opportunity as they looked to tighten up on that end of the floor in a high-stakes postseason setting. The matchup featuring Wilson’s inside presence for Las Vegas and Boston’s versatile two-way play for Indiana continued to capture attention as the season progressed, with both teams aiming to translate regular-season form into playoff success.
