Texas A&M volleyball continues its journey at the 2026 AVCA First Serve in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, against another top-15 opponent on Sunday afternoon. The Aggies dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 7 Louisville on Friday night in a rematch of last year’s Sweet 16. Texas A&M played without former NCAA Tournament MVP Kyndal Stowers, who suffered back tightness during warmups. The incident led head coach Jamie Morrison to rest Stowers for the season opener against the Cardinals as a precautionary measure. Despite not having the veteran on the court, the Maroon and White played fantastic against one of the nation’s most elite volleyball programs. Freshman libero Gabi Rodriguez grabbed much attention for her outstanding performance, recording two aces and securing 18 digs. Marquette transfer Natalie Ring and Boise State transfer Eliza Sharp also shined, combining for 21 kills in the effort. After dropping the season opener to Louisville, Texas A&M has another massive obstacle in its way of grasping the first win of the 2026 season. The 11th-ranked SMU Mustangs were swept by the Aggies in the 2025 regular season, but fought through a difficult schedule to reach the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance. Morrison and company will be faced with a tough battle in Milwaukee on Sunday, as they look to bounce back and get in the win column.
