HSV closing in on permanent Fábio Vieira deal with ArsenalHamburger SV are closer than ever to bringing Fábio Vieira back to the club on a permanent basis.According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, HSV and Arsenal are currently in advanced negotiations over a transfer for the Portuguese attacking midfielder. The two clubs are discussing the final details of the deal, with an agreement potentially being reached within the next 24 hours.Vieira is reportedly already fully in agreement with HSV and has always wanted to return to Hamburg following his successful loan spell at the club last season. The 26-year-old became an important player for HSV during the 2025/26 campaign, contributing seven goals and six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. The main obstacle throughout the summer has been an agreement between the two clubs. HSV previously held a €20 million purchase option but considered that figure too high, leading to lengthy negotiations over a reduced fee. Arsenal were most recently reported to be demanding around €18 million, while HSV’s offers had remained below €10 million. Now, however, the gap appears to have narrowed significantly. With the transfer window approaching its conclusion, HSV are reportedly working on the final details of a deal that could see Vieira return to the Volksparkstadion permanently.
