​Ilias Bronkhorst made 33 appearances in the Dutch top division last season, and now he has joined Huddersfield on a two-year contract as a free agent after being released by Excelsior, the Eredivisie club he joined in August 2024. The 29-year-old, who also spent two seasons in the Dutch top flight with NEC Nijmegen, missed only one league match in the previous campaign. Huddersfield head coach Martin Drury said on the club website, “He’s athletic with physical attributes that fit how we want to play. He’s coming from a league that demands technical quality, and his contributions to set plays—both in attack and defense—have been impressive.”
