Given the final score of the game, a controversial decision earlier in the game came back to haunt the Raiders a bit, but head coach Klint Kubiak is standing by it.In the third quarter, Kubiak and the Raiders took points off the board from a made field goal to try to go for it on fourth down after a Kansas City penalty. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out, but Kubiak has no regrets.Took Points off the BoardDuring the third quarter of Sunday’s game, Raiders kicker hit a 41-yard field goal to give the Raiders a 16-10 lead over the Chiefs. However, the Chiefs were flagged for too many players on one side of the ball, giving Kubiak and the Raiders a decision about whether to keep the points on the board, or accept the penalty and try to convert a third down from Kansas City’s 18-yard line.Instead of taking the points, the Raiders decided to go for it, but it didn’t work out.The Raiders drew up a play to running back Ashton Jeanty, but Kirk Cousins’ pass to the running back was broken up and fell incomplete, giving Kansas City the ball back.‘I don’t regret it’Considering the Raiders went on to lose the game by three points, Kubiak felt the need to address the situation after the game. And he made it clear that despite the result, he doesn’t regret taking the points off the board.“Obviously, there’s a point there where I took three points off the board, and we were going to be aggressive going into the game,” Kubiak said after the game. “I don’t regret it. I regret not getting it.”Kubiak said later in his postgame press conference that “we were going to be aggressive, and that was part of the game plan.”The post ‘I don’t regret it’: Raiders coach addresses controversial decision appeared first on The Comeback: Today’s Top Sports Stories & Reactions.
