SPRINGFIELD — Sacred Heart-Griffin’s Mikey Groesch couldn’t have dreamed up a better 18th birthday.  The senior running back supplied four touchdowns in a 54-21 win over Metamora in the second round of the Class 4A playoffs at Ken Leonard Field on Saturday, Nov. 7. The No. 4 seeded Cyclones (10-1) will visit top-seeded Centralia (11-0) in their second straight quarterfinals appearance. The Orphans defeated No. 8 Mount Zion 34-14.  “It’s probably my last time playing here and I can’t spend my 18th birthday any better than coming out here and getting a win with my friends at Ken Leonard Field just having a good time,” Groesch said.  SHG prompted a running clock by the end of the third quarter after seven straight touchdown drives.  Groesch ran for 66 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries, in addition to four catches for 62 yards and two scores.  Senior quarterback Cam Brinkman generated a 93-yard TD run in the third quarter and totaled 153 rushing yards and two scores on 11 carries. He also completed 11-of-13 passing attempts for 147 yards and three TDs.  “Our coaching staff’s awesome,” Groesch said. “They put us in a great position to succeed and all I’ve got to do is just execute. That’s what I did out there and that’s what our team continues to do. I’m grateful for the opportunities that we’ve had going into the playoffs and I’m looking forward to seeing how far we can go.” SHG senior Jobe Kepler sacked Metamora quarterback Jeeter Schweigert on the first play from the line scrimmage, his ninth of the season. Junior Wyatt Coffin also recorded a sack in the second half, and the Cyclones defense limited the Redbirds to 37 rushing yards by the end of the third period.  Assistant coach Jim McMann “puts us in the right position to make the right play every single week,” Kepler said. “Coming out there, got that sack, I did what my team needed me to do.  “Everyone puts in the work, everyone wants to win and we just want to make history this year.” Kepler, donning the same jersey as his older brother Jake, entered the afternoon with 88 total tackles, including 11 ½ for loss. Jake, a defensive stalwart himself, currently plays on the Air Force football team. “He told me after his last game, it’s all mine now and I’m just trying to leave a Kepler legacy at SHG,” Kepler said. Schweigert finished 9-of-16 for 148 yards and three touchdowns for Metamora, which finishes 8-4 overall. Senior wideout Briggs Bucy had four catches for 102 yards and two scores.  Metamora’s offensive struggles were compounded by the loss of senior receiver Jayson Pickles due to injury in the first half. “We ended up throwing the ball a lot this year, which is great and I’m really happy for those guys,” Metamora coach Nick Delinski said. “But getting to eight wins is where we thought we would be and if you lose a couple in the regular season, you’re going to run into somebody. Last year we had to play Morris in the second round. Those are big time
