BLOOMINGTON — Indiana basketball will take the floor in Peru against the host country of the FISU America Games at 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday night.The Hoosiers traveled overseas for the event that brings together college athletes from North, Central, and South America and the Caribbean for a competition across 15 sports. The participating teams in basketball include Chili, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Virgin Islands, Peru and Team USA. Indiana is representing the USA this year with a new-look roster that only features one returning scholarship player from last season. The Hoosiers were allowed to practice together throughout the summer while preparing for the FISU games. The event itself will give IU coach Darian DeVries a chance to evaluate his roster playing in competitive situations. After opening the tournament against Peru to open pool play, Indiana will play the Virgin Islands on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET on Thursday night. The top two teams from each group advance to the elimination rounds on Saturday.
