Take a breath, Milwaukee Brewers fans. The Brewers pulled out a tense, nailbiting 3-2 victory over the San Diego Padres in Game 1 of their National League Division Series on Oct. 3 to open their 2026 playoffs at American Family Field in Milwaukee.Backed by a two-run home run by Jackson Chourio, a go-ahead homer by William Contreras in the seventh inning and a bullpen that went five scoreless innings, the Brewers survived and struck first in this best-of-five series. But it wasn’t before some craziness in the top of the ninth inning as the stadium’s roof came into play on what looked like it could have been a Padres home run. Instead, the roof provided the Brewers with some good fortune. It all added to the suspense and thrill of this opener. Here’s how social media is reacting to all that happened in Game 1:Brewers reactions to Game 1 ONE DOWN ✅#WinOurWay x @UWCreditUnionpic.twitter.com/RnqWkddDvP— Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) October 4, 2026The Brewers hang on to win Game 1! pic.twitter.com/JJIGRoskSM— FOX Sports: MLB (@MLBONFOX) October 4, 2026FINAL: Brewers 3, Padres 2What a tremendous game.
