The University of Hawaii’s men’s and women’s tennis teams have been recognized as Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Teams for 2026, with four Rainbow Wahine and five Rainbow Warriors singled out for individual honors Monday.The Rainbow Wahine received the honor for the 11th consecutive season and 16th overall, while the men’s award was the program’s 10th overall, including two years in a row.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe UH women’s players granted scholar-athlete honors are Allaire Berl, Emma Forgac, Makeilah Nepomuceno, and Sophie Rachor, while the men honored were Adriano Dzhenev, Timothy Li, Toa Maeda, Kent Mueller, and Hikaru Takahashi.To be named a scholar-athlete by the ITA, a player must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.For a team to receive ITA All-Academic honors, the program: have a team GPA of 3.2 or above with all student-athletes included listed on the institutional eligibility form. All varsity letterwinners must have their GPAs factored into the team GPA.Chaminade has fifth best GPA in Pacific WestAdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementChaminade placed fifth in grade-point average for the Pacific West Conference Academic Achievement Award with a 3.48 GPA across its 11 programs participating in the conference.Point Loma came in first with a GPA of 3.59, followed by Vanguard (3.54), Dominican (3.51) and Menlo (3.49).The only Hawaii school to come out on top in a sport was Hawaii Pacific with a 3.47 in men’s basketball.
