Ortega has spent most of the campaign with Real Madrid C, while also receiving considerable playing time for Castilla. His performances have drawn interest from clubs across the continent, including teams competing in Spain’s top division.The French side have made the strongest move so far and are close to reaching a full agreement with the player. Negotiations with Real Madrid are also progressing well, although the final structure of the transfer has not yet been completed.Madrid reportedly value Jacobo at €16 million, an unusually high figure for a player who has not appeared for the senior team. The most likely structure would see Strasbourg pay around €8 million for 50% of his rights. Real Madrid would retain the remaining share and are also expected to secure clauses, including a buy-back option or a right of first refusal, giving them the possibility of bringing him back in the future.
