Jaguars will host Cleveland in 2026 opener. Here’s what fans should know

   ​The 2026 season is here for the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it’s time to see if coach Liam Coen can continue the momentum built when he led the Jags to a 13-4 record and the AFC South Championship last year.The Jaguars will host the Cleveland Browns at EverBank Stadium (1 p.m., CBS), the second time in three seasons that the first home game has been against the Browns. There’s a new coach in Cleveland, Todd Monken (who coached the Jaguars’ wide receivers from 2007-2010) but there’s a familiar foil for the Jags in Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, who has a 7-0 record against the Jags when starting.Jaguars ask fans to arrive earlyGiven the changes in parking lots and entry to the stadium because of ongoing construction on the Stadium of the Future, plus heavier traffic, the Jaguars are advising fans to arrive early and exhibit patience. This will be the Jaguars’ 9/11 Remembrance game and the team asks that all fans be in their seats early for the national anthem and commemorative programming.With 27,000 fewer seats in EverBank Stadium (total capacity is 42,500), traffic and parking will be comparable to the 2025 season with a similar number of parking and lots available and fewer ticket holders.Jaguars fans can stay coolThe weather will still be hot and the Jaguars are providing safety measures to help fans cope with the heat.Two commercially branded, factory-sealed, plastic, 16.9 oz. size or less bottles of water per ticket holder are permitted. Refillable bottled water stations can be found at all water fountains throughout the stadium. Complimentary cups are also available at all guest services booths to use at stadium water fountains.A JTA cooling bus is available near Gate 1, the South End Zone and Daily’s Place provide shaded space with concessions and seating.Should assistance be needed, guests should alert the nearest Guest Services Team member or visit a Guest Services booth situated in the following locations: Main Concourse, north end zone at Section 123; southeast corner at Section 144; southwest corner at Section 102; near ramp 3 at Section 130. Gallagher Club East & West, on the ground level and immediately outside the elevator on the upper and lower levels.Main Street Bridge updateDue to construction on the Main Street bridge, traffic exiting the stadium will be affected. Only one lane will be open going southbound on the Main Street Bridge. Guests going westbound leaving the stadium may be rerouted toward the nearby Acosta Bridge.Mobile parking passes should be downloaded and saved before arriving.Navigating EverBank StadiumGuests in general admission seating should access the main concourse for full 360-degree circulation around the stadium because the plaza level is no longer continuous from gate to gate. Some gate entries have been adjusted so ticket holders should review the recommended gate entry on their mobile ticket for each game to access the most direct route to a seat location.New this year are Grand Staircases 2 an
