Jakub Vaněček, a defenseman for the Tri-City Americans, was drafted 59th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. He was ranked 31st among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting. In the 2025-26 season, Vaněček tallied 14 goals and 35 points in 59 games, marking a strong first year in the WHL. He also represented Czechia at the 2026 U18 World Championships and earned a spot on the 2026 World Junior team. Vaněček has committed to Western Michigan University, though not until the 2027-28 season.
