Jannik Sinner gives health update before Wimbledon after his French Open collapse

Although Jannik Sinner hasn’t been present on the court since his French Open departure, he is discreetly preparing for his Wimbledon comeback. The Italian was defeated in the second round at Roland Garros, losing in a five-set match to Juan Manuel Cerundolo due to difficulties with the heat. Before Cerundolo made a comeback, Sinner was ahead by two sets. However, Cerundolo managed to turn things around and won with a score of 3-6, 3-6, 7-5, 6-1, 6-1, capitalizing on his opponent’s physical problems. Initially, Sinner had a dominant start against Cerundolo at the Roland Garros tournament, easily winning the initial two sets. However, following a medical emergency during the match, he struggled to maintain his speed as Cerundolo dominated across five intense sets. The number one player is anticipated to recover and be prepared for Wimbledon in the upcoming month. Even though there were some health problems that appeared earlier this season during his quarter-final victory over Daniil Medvedev in Miami, where he received treatment for muscle cramps but was still able to win the match in three sets, as shown in this photo by Ibrahim Ezzat/NurPhoto via Getty Images. In an interview with Vogue, Sinner commented on his physical state prior to the grass-court Grand Slam, stating: “I’m feeling great.” Over the past few weeks, we have been quite active, resulting in my body being in excellent condition.” Over the past few months, I have participated in numerous activities. Consequently, my body required a substantial training period to regain strength, and my recovery has been favorable. However, the most crucial aspect for me is being in a positive mental state, and I am delighted to be in London.
