The Los Angeles Rams beat the New York Giants 28-6 for their first win of the season, handing the Giants their first loss of the season.The story of the game, however, was the injury to Giants quarterback, Jaxson Dart, hampering their campaign already.Dart was replaced by backup QB Jameis Winston, and in a brutal turn of events, he cost the Giants the game as everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.Photo by Kevin Sabitus/Getty ImagesJameis Winston fails to replace Jaxson DartDart is likely to be out for 2-4 weeks, which means Winston is in line to start the next game against the Titans, and ensure that they are not already climbing from underneath by the time Dart returns.For that to happen, he will have to execute much better than he did against the Rams, something he accepted himself after the game.Winston completed just 11/27 passes for 111 yards, and ended what could have been a successful drive by throwing a bad interception in the red zone.Winston put it down to execution, blaming himself for his misplaced passes, particularly on first and second down.He said: “We had one-on-one coverage. They got pressure up the middle and I gave our guy a chance and the corner slipped underneath. He saw the ball coming out of my hand before the receiver and made a play on it.“We have to execute better. We are focusing on being in better down-and-distance. We were in third-and-long a lot, so we have to execute better. I have to execute better first and second down.”Winston added that his job going forward is to keep the team lifted up in Dart’s absence, as they can’t fall behind the others in this crucial injury window.Dart might push to be back sooner, but that risks further issues down the line.
