The general manager for the New York Jets likes to surprise people, so don’t count a trade out just yet when it comes to the Jets’ offseason.Sure, it’s getting late for a trade. But, don’t put it past Mougey.Aaron Glenn would likely be on board, too. Why not shake things up? That’s what this franchise needs, after all.Jets could make a surprise trade during training campIn a training camp preview from Rich Cimini of ESPN out on Thursday, the NFL analyst makes the point that the Jets could do a trade this summer, still. This is a bit surprising, because the Jets have already been quite busy this season with trades. That’s what happens when you’re 3-14.”Darren Mougey is a proactive general manager who has made 13 player trades in the past 12 months,” he notes. “What’s up his sleeve this summer? They could use help at safety, quarterback (depth), linebacker (depth) and offensive line (depth).”Who would he trade? Cimini floats the idea of trading edge rusher Will McDonald IV, since he could garner the most interest from teams, like he did ahead of last season’s trade deadline.”In terms of contract extensions, it should be a quiet summer,” Cimini adds. “Mougey got his work done early, locking up running back Breece Hall and guard Joe Tippmann.”So, it’s not a given, but of all the teams in the NFL, the Jets seem one of the more likely to do a late-offseason trade. Don’t be shocked if it happens before the first snap of the season.More NFL news:Shedeur Sanders gets warning about his music careerSeahawks’ QB Sam Darnold makes jaws drop at Mariners gameBears just landed a recognition that Ben Johnson should love
