Jets receive Garrett Wilson trade cost that mirrors Quinnen Williams’ package originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here. The New York Jets have traded away two players in the last year who were key members of the franchise. Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams were both traded at last year’s trade deadline.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWhile they’ve rebuilt the roster in hopes of turning things around for Aaron Glenn, this team is still far from being in an ideal spot. Things are so bad that the Jets might be major sellers once again at the deadline or during the 2027 offseason. If they are, Garrett Wilson could be on the move. But what could the Jets get for him? ESPN’s Bill Barnwell projected Wilson’s trade cost, and it came to a total similar to what Williams went for in the deal with the Dallas Cowboys.”One first-round pick and more: Edge rusher David Bailey, WR Garrett Wilson,” Barnwell writes. “Wilson is coming off an injury-impacted 2025 and hasn’t had that truly great season that would launch him into the top tier of wide receivers (although I’d chalk that up to bad quarterback play.”AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThis trade cost for Wilson, not just a first-round pick, but a bit more on top of that, would be similar to what they got for Williams from the Cowboys at the 2025 NFL trade deadline. The Jets landed a first-round pick, a second-round pick, and Mazi Smith for Williams last Fall. It was a strong package, and helped the Jets land D’Angelo Ponds in the second round, and also acquire their third 2027 first-rounder.If 2026 goes south, and the Jets are open to trading Wilson, which would hardly be a surprise, then they might be able to land a similar return.MORE: If Bills trade Josh Allen, this would be the mind-blowing costAdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementWhile the “more” part of the deal on top of a first-round pick might not be as good as a second-rounder, the Jets should still be able to land a third or fourth-round pick on top of a first for Wilson.Rarely does a WR with his upside become available, especially one as young as Wilson, who will be 26 years old during the 2026 season. He’d be a great pickup for a contender at the deadline, and even over the offseason. They have Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr. on the roster, and with Kenyon Sadiq at tight end, the Jets do have the weapons on offense to somewhat justify trading Wilson. This would be a blockbuster deal and would be the third key player the Jets trade away in the last two seasons. But, in a rebuild, such a huge move, especially if it brings back this kind of projected return, would be a little intriguing for the Jets and GM Darren Mougey.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementIt just got a lot harder for Cowboys to trade George PickensBears urged by NFL exec to use Cole Kmet more amid top-10 TE rankingSeahawks trade idea lands Jackson powers-Johnson from Raiders for one draft pick49ers urge
