​The Giants hung on to defeat the Titans 12-7 in their Week 3 matchup Sunday at MetLife Stadium.Here are some takeaways…– Jameis Winston and Big Blue’s offense had plenty of opportunities to get in rhythm early. They were set up right out of the gate as the special teams forced a fumble on the opening kickoff, but drops and a John Michael Schmitz holding penalty stalled the drive and pushed them out of field goal range. — A makeshift 30-yard third down pass to Cam Skattebo helped them put three points on the board on their second drive, but New York otherwise looked sloppy in their first full quarter with Winston as the starting QB. They managed just 61 total yards over their first four drives, and went 1-for-5 on third-down conversions. — The Giants’ run-game was able to find some success during their first drive of the second quarter. They ran the ball eight straight times led by Najee Harris’ first five touches of the game, but eventually got too cute and saw the drive stall out again on a botched wildcat play, settling for another field goal.– Tennessee’s offense went most of the first half without picking up a first down, until Cam Ward connected with former Giant Wan’Dale Robinson late in the second (1:18 left). An offensive PI call stalled that drive, then a missed 59-yard field goal set the Giants up perfectly to put three more points on the board, and carry a 9-0 lead into the half. — The Giants put together their best drive of the game coming out of the half. Skattebo broke off a pair of long runs, Winston scrambled for 15 yards himself, but the drive stalled out once again after back-to-back red-zone penalties. They had to settle for Dominic Zvada’s fourth field goal of the game, making it 12-0. — The Titans answered right back with their best drive to this point. Tony Pollard got into a groove on the ground and Ward was finally able to connect with some open receivers, but they still couldn’t put points on the board after Big Blue forced incompletions on third and fourth down from the seven-yard line. — Tennessee’s defense got a stop, though, and they were able to cut into the deficit. Ward connected with the former Giant Robinson for a four-yard TD with five minutes remaining in the fourth, then after another stop they continued to roll, quickly driving their way into Giants territory. With less than minute on the clock, though, Jevon Holland came up with his third interception of the season on first-and-goal from the seven to lock up the victory.– Winston went just 14-of-22 for 118 yards (5.4 AVG) in his first game starting in place of Jaxson Dart. Skattebo rushed the ball 20 times for 60 yards, and Harris provided a nice spark with 52 yards of his own on nine touches.
