The Buffalo Bills won their first two games of the 2026 NFL season, and in the process, put head coach Joe Brady into the team’s history books. Brady, who was promoted from offensive coordinator this offseason after the team fired Sean McDermott, accomplished a surprising franchise feat for the first time in winning those games. As simple as it sounds, that’s it. In winning his first two games as head coach, Brady has become the first ever head coach in Buffalo to win his first two games of his head coaching career for the Bills: Congrats, Coach! 🙌#GoBills | #BillsMafiapic.twitter.com/gZSr3kHM42— Buffalo Bills (@BuffaloBills) September 18, 2026Brady’s team outlasted the Houston Texans in Week 1, taking a 36-31 final. Last week, the Bills beat the Detroit Lions in a 41-31 fashion that felt much more secure than that. The reason one from Buffalo might find this a surprising benchmark is because of the successful head coaches the franchise has employed. Most recently, one would expect McDermott to have accomplished this feat after his team’s cracked the postseason nearly every year he was in Buffalo. But they did not. The bench boss certainly at the top of the list for the Bills is Pro Football Hall of Famer Marv Levy. He failed to pull this one off as well.
