John Calipari leads new Memphis Sports Hall of Fame class

   ​Nine new members of Memphis Sports Hall of Fame were inducted on Sept. 16 at the Renasant Convention Center and it was a Tigers-heavy 2026 class.The seven included former Tigers basketball coach John Calipari, Tigers basketball great Larry Kenon, former Tigers kicker and three-time Super Bowl champion Stephen Gostkowski, former Tigers defensive end and Super Bowl champion Tim Harris, former Tigers tennis star Phil Chamberlain, former First Assembly Christian School softball star Chelsea Bramlett, former Memphis Redbirds coach Stubby Clapp, former Hamilton football coach Roosevelt Hancock, and former Memphis University School football coach Bobby Alston.Calipari is the winningest coach in Memphis basketball history. He led the Tigers to six NCAA Tournament appearances and four Sweet 16s from 2000 to 2009. Memphis reached the national championship game in 2008.”What a special night last night being back in Memphis for the Memphis Sports Hall of Fame!
