WWE legend John Cena has once again made headlines with the release of his new Netflix film, Little Brother, starring alongside Eric Andre, who recently tangled with Jacob Fatu at a WWE event. Cena stepped away from the WWE ring this year to pursue his Hollywood career, but he’s not done with wrestling entirely and plans to stay connected with WWE through the upcoming John Cena Classic and other potential appearances when needed. Cena even suggested that Andre could one day become a WWE superstar, should he decide to pursue it.
Cena knows what makes a compelling WWE performer, having reinvented his character multiple times to maintain momentum for about two decades. He believes Andre possesses the right blend of athleticism and storytelling to succeed in sports entertainment, telling the Pete Davidson show, “Follow your dream. He’s a gifted physical comedian and a storyteller. He would be a WWE Superstar as soon as he switches, as soon as he changes his mind.” While reflecting on his own passion for wrestling, Cena emphasized that being a wrestler has been something he enjoys, though it isn’t his entire identity. During his farewell tour, observers questioned what he would do next, and Cena admitted he didn’t have a fixed plan, focusing instead on making the most of each day and staying open to opportunities as they come.
With Andre now active in the Netflix arena and Cena likely to return as a host at some point, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Andre get involved in WWE in some capacity. Whether that involvement evolves into a full-fledged superstar career remains to be seen, as time will tell.
